In May 2016 management at the Umas Jaya Agrotama factory in Lampung, Indonesia announced the plant’s immediate closure, without prior notice or negotiations with the union. After more than one-and-a-half years, two hundred workers at the facility, the majority of them members of the IUF-affiliated SBMUJA, have still not received their final month’s pay, and the company refuses to negotiate.

Nearly twenty years after Indonesia freed itself from an oppressive military dictatorship, workers at the Indonesian operations of The Coca-Cola Company's Australian-based bottler Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) are still waiting for democratic rights at the workplace. Workers at Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia are organizing to form independent democratic unions. The company has responded by systematically attacking their members and elected leaders. 
Workers - many of them migrants from Poland and Lithuania - have been on strike since September 8 at the fish processing company Norse Production near Bergen on the west coast of Norway. Organized in the IUF-affiliated Norwegian Food and Allied Workers Union (NNN), they are demanding the right to a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the company.

Following three years of long and difficult negotiations, the IUF-affiliated Beverage and Related Industry Workers' Union (STIBYS) and Cervecería Hondureña SA, owned by AB InBev, have signed a new collective agreement which secures permanent employment for 400 outsourced workers.
